Motivation in the society today is defended through fears, which roots are buried in children's fairy tales and in education through manipulation and intimidation. Through the heroes' fate in Russian fairy tales, the artist shows the horror that children feel while listening to the fairy tales.
We are used to hearing adults telling children to "go to sleep, otherwise Monster will take you away." "listen or I will take off your toy" "let's go quickly, or I'll leave you here alone." Behind such seemingly harmless phrases, which come from folklore or movies, lies intimidation. Similarly, the plots of many fairy tales often frighten and generate motivation to act only by feeling fear. When creating the visual series, Irina was inspired by the plots and images from Russian fairy tales. Through the photographs, she reflects the emotions that rule over an adult, thanks to the stories from childhood that root fear into the subconscious, through repeating and associative detuning. Overlapping images, frightening, manipulative plots are embodied in a large number of light sources and textures layered on top of each other in the language of photography. Balancing between reality and fiction, adults live from the boss's reprimand to a scary movie, without realizing that every fairy tale, movie or an article on the Internet is written for the purpose of manipulating consciousness.
